Contributing to the Rhinebeck Science Foundation
Since its inception in 2007, members of our community—from administrators and teachers to families and local business owners—have given freely of their time, energy, and expertise in building the Rhinebeck Science Foundation to enhance the K-12 curriculum in science, math and technology. So too, our friends and neighbors in Rhinebeck have committed themselves generously to funding this new enterprise.
We have worked together to define a clear and attainable goal for the foundation: to create a one million dollar endowment for public education in the Rhinebeck Central Schools. Your contribution, no matter how large or small, is crucial to our shared mission. External funding agencies look for high rates of participation from across the community when approached with grant proposals by groups such as ours; your gift signals confidence in our joint enterprise even as it helps to meet immediate needs in our schools right now.
Why one million dollars?
The Rhinebeck Science Foundation expects to spend a minimum of 5% yearly of the newly established endowment on specific curriculum-based projects involving science, math and technology. That annual budget of 5% represents a concrete enhancement of materials and resources for students in the classroom. Dedicated funding also supports faculty development, so that our teachers can expand on what they already do so well. Meeting our goal today will benefit not only our own children but also create a trust for the next generation of young people in our community. The Foundation pledges wisely to invest and grow the endowment and to keep, in perpetuity, a fund to support all students in the Rhinebeck Schools.
