Village Water Fountain Grant

RSF is pleased to announce that our SECOND student-led grant was granted to Mr. Frischknecht's 7th and 8th grade civics enrichment program! Throughout early 2023, students worked with Mayor Gary Bassett to identify a community need in Rhinebeck Village. After navigating an extensive research process (including the review of village water line schematics) and hitting "many roadblocks", students reached out to RSF for financial support -- because as their grant request stated, " Science, math, and technology are essential for going through with this plan...calculating costs, and figuring out the technicalities for the installation." According to the students, " this project gives other children the idea that they can accomplish difficult things, like making a big change in their village." Way to think outside the box, students---and stay tuned for this project's progress!
